With the @friendsoflakes Lakes, at their Rusland Woods site, we undertook a hands-on conservation activity cutting Holly regeneration near the bases of trees so the Bryophytes and Lichens can spread and carried out some surveying. On Sunday, we spent the morning with #FixtheFells (@ntlakedistrict ), with a walk and talk around Beacon Tarn and Fell and an opportunity to understand and discuss some of the issues that FtF has to deal with, such as footpaths and erosion.

The group spent Saturday evening over dinner with several landscape organisations, discussing various volunteer opportunities available in the landscapes.

We have two days planned for 2025, in April and June. If you’re interested, please message us.

Inclusive volunteering is crucial in protecting our landscapes for the future, and all communities need to be engaged, including the need to think out of the box. If any landscape organisations wish to collaborate on inclusive volunteering, please do get in touch.
